Ongoing Interpreting Positions – Application Process for Interpreters Who are Hearing
To begin the process, interested parties should review the full application process. The following information gives you an idea of the requirements you need to work as an interpreter for DHCC. The candidate has an initial phone interview with the Interpreter Referral Department (IRD) Manager to determine eligibily.
Please be prepared with the following:
Pre-certified interpreters MUST pass the NIC written exam before applying.
DHCC Subcontractor Clearances & Requirements
More and more customers are concerned about liability and complying with federal, state and local laws. Some require us to assign only interpreters with proper insurance coverage and necessary clearances. Therefore, DHCC is now requiring that all subcontracted interpreters have the following information. Please note, Child Abuse Clearances and Criminal Record Check must be updated on an annual basis. Please comply with your insurance and registrations expiration dates.

- FBI Fingerprinting – click on “Department of Education, (PDE)”
- RID Membership
