Emergency Preparedness

Fire Safety

DHCC partnered with the Department of Fire Services of Montgomery Township (PA) to present a fire safety training program to members of the Deaf and hard of hearing communities.  We held two different trainings and were pleased with the turnout!

Our goal was to train people to share the information with peers in the community.  We asked everyone to share fire safety tips and suggestions with 10 other individuals in their communities!

We are so grateful to the Department of Fire Services of Montgomery Township for helping us share this information with the community!

Severe Weather Information

DHCC’s Executive Director Neil McDevitt talks about how Severe Weather can affect telecommunications access for deaf and hard of hearing people. In this blog, he talks about the affect of power outages on telecommunications devices and presents some ideas on how to keep your devices charged during power outages.
