Community Interpreting Program
The Community Interpreting Program (CIP) is meant to cover one-time events not covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) such as weddings, funerals, baby showers, etc. It is not for on-going, monthly events or business related meetings. This program is restricted to use by individuals only. Requests from businesses and organizations cannot be accepted. You must be a member of DHCC to take advantage of CIP. If you are not a current member, you can join and pay your membership fee using the form below.
- If you are an Individual Member, you are entitled to make up to 3 CIP requests with a maximum of 5 hours per request for the calendar year. If you have a Family Membership, your family is entitled to make up to 5 requests for the calendar year. The calendar year is January through December. If you join DHCC in the month of October, November or December, your membership will run through the end of the following December. Additional requests will be considered on a case by case basis.
- The cost for each interpreter is $25 an hour with a minimum of a two hour assignment fee.
- Mileage will be charged at the allowable IRS mileage reimbursement rate, as well as other travel expenses such as parking and tolls.
A credit card or pre-payment will be required to book the interpreter(s). If you need to become a member, your credit card will be charged for membership immediately. You will be charged the total amount for the interpreting assignment after the assignment is complete and you will receive a receipt for the paid invoice in the mail.
